How about we see God as the father who loves us even before we were conceived, the father who gave his son to die for us so we can call Abba father, the father who adopted us, and most importantly choose and keeps choosing us even when we fall short.

I pray you get to understand the love of God from a father/son relationship , a father who loves you and won’t consume you with his consuming fire .

He’s all of those things at once.

The people that are currently being consumed by fire aren’t doing so because God didn’t love them.

He doesn’t want to, but he will if he has to.

The conditions not to are already laid out. Plus, that fire was never meant for humans. It’s meant for God’s enemies.

This was an interesting read. God is not our friend but he is our father. Our understanding of fatherhood determines our perspective of God. The type of love you receive from your earthly father sets the standard for your expectation of Godly love until you come into a deeper revelation of the true depth of the love of God. I pray that our hearts be always open to the continuous revelation of the identity of our father and our identity in him.

This is the medicine I needed.

I needed to hear this.

I felt so ashamed while reading this but also so remorseful, God is really not my friend and most definitely not my mate😭
