I need all my ghost readers to kindly IGNORE this post.
Like, don’t read it at all.
I usually wouldn’t mind, but for this one, I want your thoughts and comments and opinions and restacks.
If you’re not going to give them, then you can kindly skip this one, and I'll see you in a few days.
If you're willing to indulge me, then go right ahead.
So what's going to happen is that I'll give you different hypothetical situations, and I want you to tell me what you would do if you were ever faced with any of these "impossible" choices.
I’m giving 10 in this first part, so I expect to know what you think of at least 1.
Sound fair? I think so.
Also, try to use options that I provide and don’t add or invent your own answers.
Thanks in advance,
Let’s get into it.
Dilemma #1
During a late-night run to the kitchen, you overhear your father on the phone with an unknown woman, admitting to them being in an extramarital affair.
Do you tell your mother what you heard and risk tearing your family apart?
or
Do you pretend not to have heard anything and just move on, holding such heavy knowledge in your heart?
Dilemma #2
Your university’s curfew is at 10pm, but one night you sneak out of campus for a family emergency. While returning and attempting to sneak back in, you witness a woman being sexually harrassed, and you recognise the people who do it.
The next morning, the school authorities ask for anybody with information to come forward.
Do you tell the school authorites what you saw, knowing fully well that you’d be admitting to breaking the curfew law?
or
Do you withold what you saw and save yourself?
Note - The punishment for leaving campus after curfew is outright expulsion, and you’re in your final semester.
Dilemma #3
Would you rather:
Spend an hour with your 10-year old self teaching him/her the things you know now?
or
Spend an hour with you 60-year old self learning all the mistakes to avoid as you get older?
Dilemma #4
You run into a burning building to try to rescue anybody inside; however, it’s about to collapse, and there’s barely any time left.
Through the smoke, you see a pregnant woman and a disabled man in a wheelchair; both of them start to scream at you to rescue them, but you only have time to save one.
Do you save the pregnant woman?
or
Do you save the disabled man?
Dilemma #5
You can go back in time to stop ONE major event in history from happening.
Do you stop slavery from ever happening?
or
Do you stop Africa from ever being colonised?
Dilemma #6
You are a doctor, and one of your patients is in severe agony as they die from a terminal illness. One night, in a bout of unbearable pain, they ask you to help them end their life peacefully.
You know there’s a way you can do it without anybody ever finding out. You also know that if you don’t, the patient will continue to be in agony for months.
Do you help them end their life peacefully, breaking all your moral and ethical codes?
or
Do you refuse and leave them to suffer for the remaining months until their body gives out naturally?
Dilemma #7
Your wife’s ex suddenly shows up and claims that all your 3 children are his. He claims that he’s been having an affair with your wife for the 10-year duration of your marriage, and he demands a DNA test.
Your wife vehemently denies the accusation, and she feels completely betrayed that you would even consider taking the test.
Do you agree to the DNA test to find out the truth at the risk of losing your wife’s trust forever?
or
Do you ignore the accusations and hold on to the trust you have for your wife, at the risk of continuing to father children that are not yours?
Note - The ex doesn’t bring any concrete proof; it’s just his word vs your wife’s word, but he seems utterly convinced.
Dilemma #8
You are offered a pill that guarantees that you will be successful in your dream career and that you’ll achieve all of your goals at the right time. However, the only cost is that you’ll have to give up ever falling in love.
Do you take the pill and guarantee a successful life but never experience romantic love?
or
Do you reject it, keeping love as a possibility but knowing that you’ll must likely struggle to achieve your goals?
Dilemma #9
Your parents DO NOT agree with your choice of partner for marriage. However, you’re wholly and fully convinced that this person is the right one for you.
Do you, go ahead with the marriage without your parents approval?
or
Do you, call off the relationship and leave the person?
Note - There’s no middle ground here.
Dilemma #10
You can choose ONE ability:
Do you choose the power to read minds and discern intentions?
or
Do you choose the power to influence actions with your words?
Note - You can’t turn either off. Which means, you’ll always hear what a person is thinking and your words will always be obeyed.
There you go.
Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts, please.
I just want to add that it’s so easy to claim with words that you’ll always “do the right thing” until you find yourself in a certain situation.
Just try to be as objective as possible.
Looking forward to your responses.
Peace.
